Higher or Lower is designed to work without accounts, advertising or analytics. Your game data stays on your device. This policy explains what happens when you use higher-lower.com.
Controller and contact
The controller for this website is the operator of Higher or Lower. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at [email protected].
Data processed by the website
When you open the site, the server necessarily processes technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, and the date and time of the request. This is required to deliver the website and to protect it against misuse. The legal basis, where the GDPR applies, is our legitimate interest in running a secure and reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you email us, we process the details you provide solely to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message concerns a contract or pre-contractual request, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Local storage
The game uses your browser’s local storage to save an optional player name, your high scores, and up to 50 recent score entries per game mode. This information is not sent to us and remains on your device unless you delete it. It is needed to provide the score-history feature (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, where applicable).
You can remove this data at any time in your browser’s site-data or local-storage settings. Clearing it resets your saved scores and player name.
Cookies, analytics and sharing
This version of Higher or Lower does not set cookies and does not use advertising, analytics, social-media pixels, or other third-party tracking tools. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
Retention and recipients
Technical server logs are retained only for as long as necessary for security and operation. Messages sent by email are retained for as long as needed to handle the request and meet legal retention obligations. Your on-device game data is retained until you delete it. We only share data where this is necessary to operate the hosting service, respond to your request, or comply with law.
Your rights
Where the GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or data portability, and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also lodge a complaint with your competent data-protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact us using the address above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the website or applicable law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
